About CNU

Capital Normal University (CNU), established in 1954, is a key comprehensive university supported and funded by Beijing Municipal Government, embracing liberal arts, sciences, engineering, management, law, education, fine arts and music etc.

Capital Normal University has signed cooperation agreements with 176 foreign universities and institutions from 29 countries and regions. Confucius Institutes were jointly set up in St. Petersburg State University in Russia, University of Minnesota in America, University of Venice in Italy, University of Piura in Peru, State University of New York at Buffalo in America and Bremen University of Science & Technology in German. In addition, Capital Normal University is one of the earliest universities which are authorized by China’s Education Ministry to accept international students. There are about 2,500 long-term and short-term international students enrolled in CNU annually.

Capital Normal University is located at the west third ring road of Beijing with convenient transportation of subway, buses and taxi. The campus is not far from both the prosperous downtown in Beijing and world famous historical sites such as the Summer Palace and Forbidden City etc.

Programs

There are 18 colleges and departments in Capital Normal University, including：College of Fine Arts, College of Foreign Languages, College of History, College of Information Engineering, College of International Education, College of Life Science, College of Literature, College of Management, College of Mathematics, College of Music, College of Politics and Law, College of Pre-school Education, College of Primary Education, College of Resource Environment and Tourism, Department of Chemistry, Department of Educational Technology, Department of Physics, School of Education Sciences, with totally 52 undergraduate specialties, 145 master’s degree programs, and 91 doctorate program.
