The introduction of Hebei University of Chinese Medicine

 Established in 1958，Hebei University of Chinese Medicine is one of the earliest established higher education institutions for Chinese medicine in the People’s Republic of China. The University is co-constructed by People’s Government of Hebei Province and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the People’s Republic of China. It is one of the key universities in Hebei and is Province-Ministry co-sponsored, which is the integration of teaching, medical treatment and scientific research. Hebei University of Chinese Medicine has educated/cultivated/trained about 20,000 specialists of Chinese medicine.
 The University has two campuses named Juquan and Xingyuan, one Class A tertiary comprehensive hospital, 21 teaching hospitals, 6 practice bases and 15000 beds. Juquan and Xingyuan campuses cover an area of 556 mu (1 mu ≈ 666 square meters) and more than 168000 square meters of practical construction. The University is equipped with excellent teaching and research facilities with 76 million Yuan worth of teaching and scientific instruments, a collection of 500 thousand books, 23.8 thousand of thread-bound ancient books among which 747 were rare books.
  Hebei University of Chinese Medicine provides undergraduate/Bachelor Program, Master Program and Doctor Program. It enrolls students in China (including Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan) as well as international students from all over the world. There are 13 teaching units including School of Basic Medical Sciences, School of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, School of Acupunture, Moxibustion and Tuina, School of Materia Medica, School of Nursing, Graduate School, School of Continuing Education, International Office, School of Common Required Course, School of Clinical Medicine, Library, Information Technology Center and Experimental Center. The 8 undergraduate majors include Chinese Medicine, Clinical Medicine of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, Acupunture-Moxibustion and Tuina, Chinese Materia Medica, Nursing, Rehabilitation Science, Medical Imaging Technology and Chinese Medicine Resource and Development. It has been authorized in conferring master and Ph.D. degrees in 18 specialties.

  There are 6300 full-time students among which 221 are postgraduate students in Hebei University of Chinese Medicine. The University started to recruit international students since 1993 and has cultivated over 1000 graduates from more than 30 countries and regions all over the world including the Republic of Korea, the United States of America, Brazil, India and Bangladesh.
  Hebei University of Chinese Medicine has a good number of world-known experts and scholars. Of the nearly 1500 staff and faculty members, there is one “Chinese Medicine Master”, 12 doctoral candidate supervisors, 94 master candidate supervisors, 1 member of the Discipline Appraisal Group of the State Council, 14 experts receiving Special Allowances from the State Council
Hebei University has one specialty discipline at national level2 innovation highlands of undergraduate education, 2 brand and featured majors, 2 pilots for Major Comprehensive Reform, 2 Experiment Teaching Demonstration Centers, 12 excellent courses at provincial level. 10 key discipline at both provincial and State/National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine,  10 key specialty of the Ministry of Health jointly supported by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1 provincial key laboratories, 2 Level-II laboratories of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 1 key laboratory of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 2 key laboratories of Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Hebei Province.
