Founded in 1946, Sichuan Normal University (SNU) is a fulltime, comprehensive and provincial-key university under the Sichuan People’s Government. SNU covers an area of 3,300 mu, which is located in Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan Province. At present, SNU possesses 27 colleges and 84 undergraduate majors. There are about 38,000 associate-degree and undergraduate students, about 4,000 Ph. D. and Master Candidates and 3,000 teaching and research faculty and staff. Among these faculty figures, about 1000 are professors and associate professors, and more than 1,600 faculty members have Doctor's degree or Master’s degree. Approved by the Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters),it has collaborated with Yonsei University, Korea and the University of Karachi, Pakistan, SNU established two Confucius Institutes respectively in 2012.

College of International Education is a new-established college with administrative and teaching functions in order to promote the university’s international exchange and cooperation. The responsibilities taken by College includes teaching management of specialty of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Language(TCSOL) on undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Chinese training for overseas students, international exchange programs, two Confucius Institutes’ operation, HSK ( Chinese Proficiency Test) testing center’s management and so on. The college has gradually completed the education system for overseas students and established long-term relationships of exchange and cooperation with universities in Korea, France, USA, Japan, Austria, Thailand and Canada, etc.
