Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU), which is located in the “International Garden City” Hangzhou, is a key provincial university in Zhejiang province, well-known for its unique characteristics and advantages. While engineering subjects are the University’s main focus, the school provides a comprehensive academic education, covering the fields of natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, economics, management, law and education. The school’s history can be traced back to the Sericulture Academy established in 1897, which was one of the earliest western-style educational institutions in China.
Zhejiang Sci-Tech University has four campuses, covering a total area of 140 hectares. The University now has a total of 16 affiliated colleges (including teaching departments) and one independent institute. Currently, there are 59 undergraduate majors, of which, 15 are provincial key majors (inclusive of those under construction) and 8 enjoy the status of “major with distinct characteristics” at national/ministerial levels. The University has 12 doctoral programs and 65 Master’s programs. At present, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University has roughly 26,000 full time students enrolled, of which around 2,500 are postgraduate students.
ZSTU always attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, and maintains close collaborative relations with 53 universities and research institutes in over 20 countries and regions, including U.S.A, the United Kingdom, France, Denmark, Japan, Korea and Australia. ZSTU is one of the host institutes under Chinese Government Scholarship Programs. Besides, ZSTU and Zhejiang Provincial government offer various scholarships to outstanding international students too.
ZSTU started to enroll international students in 2003, and so far has accepted lots of international students from more than 40 countries and regions in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America.
