WFU has more than 1700 staff among 23 teaching institutions. The university has 53 specialties in natural sciences, engineering, literature, economics, law, history, education, literature, management and agriculture. Students totaling over 20,000 come from 29 different provinces, municipalities or autonomous regions. WFU has always been active in international cooperation and exchanges. Friendly academic exchanges and cooperation relations have been established with universities in the Korea, Japan, USA, Canada, Britain and Austria.
The university is active in international cooperation and exchange. Different universities from South Korea, Japan, US, Canada, Britain and Austria have established sister-relationship with WFU. From 2001 WFU was qualified to accept international students, over 200 international students from US, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries have studied in WFU.
